Welcome to Weldon C.E. Primary School website.

Weldon C.E. Primary School is situated in the village of Weldon (pop:3000) and is in the north of the County of Northamptonshire. The school is very popular and children attend from the villages of Weldon, Great Oakley, Oakley Vale and Corby.

It is a successful school having received national awards for academic success, work with the community and the environment, as well as Healthy Schools Award, FMSIS, Active Mark, Active Young Citizenship Bronze Award and ECO Silver. We also had a good Ofsted inspection in March 2009, the report can be viewed on our documents page.

We believe in developing all children to their full potential and have many extra curricular activities and visits which enrich the teaching and learning. We aim to provide a rich education suiting the needs of every child.

We have a good and experienced Governing Body who work hard to support us in many ways, a dedicated team of staff fully committed to the school, and a successful PFTA who organise a variety of fundraising and social events throughout the school year.

 

In line with Government recommendations we offer full 'wrap-around care' which includes a breakfast club, after school club and a holiday club. Please view our Extended Services page for more details.

Weldon Church records show there has been a school in the village since 1700.

We have adopted the church tower as our logo and our children proudly wear it on their uniforms.

 

We have an ICT suite with 32 computers & laptops and the suite was fully upgraded in September 2009 with the latest hardware and software.

 

We have a fantastic school library with over 4,000 books and this was recognised when we were runner up for the Northamptonshire Library Award in Summer 2010.

Every classroom has an interactive whiteboard which class teachers use daily to deliver/present their lessons.

 

We also have Home Learning Access / Learning Platform where the children can log onto their class page and emails from home.

 

We are proud to offer a wide selection of lunchtime and after-school clubs. These change termly and cover sports, ICT skills, arts & crafts, design technology, and many more.

September 2007 saw the launch of our after school care provision 'SPACE Club' and this is now fully established and going from strength to strength. September 2008 saw the opening of our Launch Club (breakfast club) and we opened our holiday club 'Comet Care' in July 2010.
