Welcome to Weldon C.E. Primary School website.

Weldon C.E. Primary School is situated in the village of Weldon (pop:2500) and is in the north of the County of Northamptonshire. The school is very popular and children attend from the villages of Weldon, Great Oakley, Oakley Vale and Corby.

It is a successful school having received national awards for academic success, work with the community and the environment, as well as Healthy Schools Award in 2007, FMSIS in 2008, Active Mark in 2007, Active Young Citizenship Bronze Award in 2008 and ECO Silver 2008. We also had a good Ofsted inspection in March 2009, the report can be viewed on our documents page.

We believe in developing all children to their full potential and have many extra curricular activities and visits which enrich the teaching and learning.

We have a good and experienced Governing Body who work hard to support us in many ways, a dedicated team of staff fully committed to the school, and a successful PFTA who organise a variety of fundraising and social events throughout the school year.

Weldon Church records show there has been a school in the village since 1700.

We have adopted the church tower as our logo and our children proudly wear it on their uniforms.

 

We have an ICT suite with 32 computers & laptops and the suite was fully upgraded in September 2009 with the latest hardware and software.

Every classroom has an interactive whiteboard which class teachers use daily to deliver/present their lessons.

 

We are proud to offer a wide selection of lunchtime and after-school clubs. These change termly and cover sports, ICT skills, arts & crafts, design technology, and many more.

September 2007 saw the launch of our after school care provision 'SPACE Club' and this is now fully established and going from strength to strength. September 2008 saw the opening of our Launch Club (breakfast club) and we are now working towards a holiday club for Summer 2010.
